We felt like we got shots we wanted. We just missed. That's just how it goes sometimes.
We're getting better, but our defense the last couple of games hasn't been there. Teams have been scoring on us. We've got three more games to get it right before the Big East Tournament -- three important games -- so, hopefully, we can get it started now.
We know he's going to be all right and we've just got to continue our game plan. We're a little sick right now. That's all it is. Hopefully, it doesn't turn out any worse than it is. But we can't just stop.
We have to get ready for Seton Hall, watch how everything plays out and wish for that bye in the Big East tournament.
There are no easy games in this league. It's pretty even across the board.
We've been in situations like the one we had (Sunday). Down the stretch, they made more plays.
Of course, I'll be ready. I think I could have done it this year if Carl hadn't come back.
Carl makes everything easier for us. He's taught us so much and prepared us for everything. He's seen it all.
Basically, we rely on our depth. We all expect to play well when we're out there. (Friday) guys were making all their shots. Hopefully, we can build on this.
Chris liked how they treated him in his two years here. That made my choice easy.
I felt like a freshman coming into the season, but I don't feel that way anymore. We practice hard every day and I've become comfortable enough to know my role and run the team when I have to or do whatever I can to help us win.
I felt like a freshman coming into the season, but I don't anymore.
He let me know the ins and outs. He taught me how to do things, how to be a leader. Basically, he's just been that senior leader and I appreciate everything he'd done for me.
Our bench is strong, we just try to wear teams down, playing so many different people so many different minutes. We just try to keep fresh bodies in and get them down.
That definitely hurt us with Levon, and especially Aaron, going out. Aaron never really got in a groove. We couldn't really establish the low post the way we wanted to.
That was definitely a great test going into the Big East, because the Big East is going to be physical.
We're all trying to learn every day. We're still not where we need to be, but we're getting better.
We never feel we're out of a game. (Against Marquette), we had our chances. Unfortunately, the ball didn't bounce our way.
We needed to hit a couple of deep shots to loosen them up a little bit. The shots weren't falling, but we were able to hang in there with them.
We haven't played good defense the past couple games. We've got to play better defensively. There have been some mental letdowns.
We know we can compete for a Big East title and a national championship. We have confidence in each other -- we've had it all along.
We definitely had a chip on our shoulder, because we lost our last game at home. We wanted to come in and prove something.
We have good relationships. And that translates onto the court.
We think we can still do some damage, but of course, it's a hard road.
We've just had some mental breakdowns. We have wins with this young team and we have losses with this young team. It is what it is now. We have to get better.
We wanted to come in and prove something. We're taking it a game at a time. Now we're going to get ready for Syracuse.
We just keep playing. We know how good we are and how good we can be. We have so many different players that can step in, we know somebody is going to step up.
Throw out all the seeds. Whoever plays the best is going to win. Watching the games today definitely gets the message through. I think last year, losing to Pacific, got the message through. Guys already know. It doesn't matter what the seed is, you have to go out and play hard.
We feel we have a good group of guards also. Me and 'Tone come in for Carl and Ron, and they start off and do a good job. I think we held our own.
Everyone will try to help out on him. We're going to pay a lot of attention to him. Just paying close attention, making things tough for him and putting pressure on him, trying to make him handle it.
A lot of people probably are going to start taking us a little more seriously.
It's just another game, but it's not just another game. (Because) now if we lose, we're out. We just have to play our games and play hard and everything else will take care of itself.
It just boosts my confidence to know I can do what I have to do to go out there and help my team out.
The biggest thing for us is we're undefeated, no matter what anybody else says. We're good, and we want to just keep playing every game hard and trying to win.
It's very important. Every possession counts. We try to keep the turnovers to around 12 per game. Lately, we've been around 18 or 19. We've been getting away from it. We definitely have to keep every possession. We have to take care of the ball. We're working at that.
I haven't played good defense the last couple of games. We're definitely stressing defense and rebounding, and a couple of things on the offensive side.
Hey, when we shoot 67 percent, we're hard to beat.
He's very laid-back. He points out certain things and feels you're smart enough to get it done.
Gerry is playing excellent right now. They're big down low. We have to attack the zone. We'll have to be aggressive.
All we can do now is sit back and wish for the bye.
