I do recall that my father was the victim of a smear campaign by the publisher of the local newspaper. I knew it was wrong and unfair, but it didn't seem to really affect my father.
It feels good to blame someone else, especially if they are smaller than you.
I just think that ethics education today is not as successful as it should be. Everyone seems to think they are ethical, but then we see lying, cheating and stealing going on at every level of our business world and it's spiraling up through society.
