She said she thought she must have hit some ice. She said she was coming back from visiting a friend or some friends. She remembered sliding but didn't remember going in the water.
Her pants and the arms of her sweat shirt had turned to ice. She was very pale and could hardly talk. It was the last thing I expected to see at 3:30 in the morning.
My only thought as I was swerving was, please, please, don't let the trailer hit her. It happened so fast . . . she was just there in front of me.
