I think it's really interesting to play a woman who can articulate that she isn't ready to have a family and isn't even sure if she wants a family. I have a lot of friends like that. But obviously, that's not me.

My whole drive to be an actor was finding roles that I really believed represent modern women, the struggles that we deal with. Women who are strong and capable and in control of their own lives.

Realizing you're not anything special to the kids is always a great sort of reminder that you're just a regular person. A regular, embarrassing old mom.

Ryan and I didn't grow up like this at all, with this much attention. We'll just try to keep their feet on the ground and raise them with the values we were raised with.

Somebody close to me once said, 'Oh, no man will ever accept your children.' And I just thought it was the most horrifying thing someone has ever said to me in my entire life. I was determined to find somebody who would make that not true.

To play June, I had an immediate connect with her background and culture. We grew up with the same religion and shared a lot of the same values of family and spirituality. But I was really so inspired by what a modern woman she was.

I would love to have more kids. Kids are the best part of my day. I don't wake up to make movies. I wake up to hang out with my family.

We each own one car, and we have a reasonable house. It's a lovely place to be, but it's not extravagant.

That said, my kids are at home right now with my husband and I'm missing something important at my daughter's school which makes me feel sick inside. It's a lot of balance and a lot of really hard decision making.

Well I had my kids so young that I kind of feel that I'm a kid too and am growing up with them. The things they're interested in tend to really influence me.

When he had a scene, we would stand like a set away and watch, and we were just cracking up. He would just sit funny. And stand funny. He was just so funny in everything he did.

My family has been thankfully fine, ... We live in Tennessee. But we have many extended family members, friends, that are dealing with some pretty difficult things. So, I've been in touch with a lot of different people like Save the Children and Children's Defense Fund, who are doing wonderful things to help out down there and providing refuge for a lot of people. All you can do is pray, you know?

And you know, life is a constant learning experience. I learn so much with my kids. I read tons of books and study what they're studying.

The thing is, we're not extravagant people. It's just unbelievable the amounts of money we make. But we don't spend it. It's too scary to spend it.

So that's been sort of a different dynamic for both of us, I think. But it has been really good.

Romantic comedy has really evolved since that time when there used to be a lot of social conventions and all sorts of reasons why people couldn't be together,

They had authentic country roots. But I think they believe they were put on this earth to be together.

There seems to be no repercussions for the behavior. It's starting to feel chaotic and lawless.

It was sort of an unknown if we were going to be able to accomplish it. Up until the very last minute, it was hard to decipher whether or not we were going to be able to really pull it off.

It's hard having kids. It's hard having a job. It's hard having a relationship - for anybody.

I love having that antagonistic relationship in the beginning, and being equally as strong as each other and bullheaded. It kind of reminded me of a Spencer Tracy/Katharine Hepburn-type movie.

I never finished college, so I have no skills. I am here by the skin of my teeth.

I'm having a great time playing Becky, ... She's a world away from Elle Woods and for me it's a great departure. It was a natural decision for me to get as far away from American pop culture as I could.

I just think they have a unique love story, in that they were working side-by-side for 12 years and completely enamored of each other and couldn't be together. It was a really good story.

I have to turn down roles I really want to do because I can't travel. But that's okay, because you make peace with things in your mind.

I really like the idea that Mark appeals to so many people because he just is who he is. He's not posturing or trying to look pretty or have great hair. He's just a real man and he's funny.
