Kids with ADHD tend to have reading problems, so that's one outlet that's less open to them. They have peer problems. They often are not very good at sports, so that's another outlet less open to them. Part of the reason they watch more TV may be because that's one of few things they can comfortably do.

It's an easy target. There is the argument that if children weren't watching TV, they would be reading instead. Well, there's no evidence of that at all.
