I thought we had a great turnout. We were hoping for about 1,000-1,500, but it's the first time we've had something like this on campus. We might tweak a few things next year, but we're looking forward to doing something like this again.

While Bell has made significant improvements in the overall football program during the past two and a half years, we believe that this decision is in the best interest of Jackson State, its fans and alumni. We would like to thank coach Bell for his untiring efforts and sincere love for the players.

The wins are gonna come. We're going to re-awaken this sleeping giant.

I'm not going to say anything that might be taken as negative about this program or these players. We're going to play the season out and see what happens.
