I'm a Husky (football) season-ticket holder myself, and I still think he should be playing baseball.

A lot of 17-year-olds aren't mature enough to handle all of this. There's no resentment at all with his teammates because he handles it all so well and includes them. You get a guy this talented in this small of a pond, and he can overpower the whole pond, but Jake doesn't do that.

It was a hard-fought game, it was close the whole game, but we made the plays when we needed to.

But if he continues to develop as a baseball player, come June 7 (the day of the baseball draft), there's still a chance. He'll have a tough decision.

For the first six innings we were totally in control of the game against the No. 1 team in the state, we just didn't make the play or the pitch we needed to win the game.
