We started covering their inside. We really wanted to control that at the end. When that happens a smart team does what? They go outside, and that's exactly what they did.
She was aggressive. I wish she could have been more of a defensive force this season for us. But she scored down low for us.
I'm still looking for them to play a whole game. They just can't relax. They're too young to relax.
We played the last eight minutes of the game and the first eight minutes of the game, we just did not play with any consistency. That's what did it tonight. We dug ourselves in a hole. We let their pressure dictate what we did offensively.
We're just going to try and win another game.
Courtney did not help us on the boards, she has to penetrate more than being a set shooter. I'm not even looking at her scoring because that did not help us. We need her to rebound.
I used my last timeout to go man-to-man, and I had to do that because we're not very good on the free-throw line so I couldn't take a chance.
I try not to cut the sheep, or ruin the fleece.
It's been a long year. These girls are still learning. They have to learn to have balance. They have to learn to follow things through.
They were big. For a freshman stepping up her play, they were big.
Their top player was 6-foot-3-inches. We played a solid first half but we lost it in the second half.
I'm really excited for the girls. We had a lead, but it's not over until it's over. Maybe we had to learn how to win. I think for us to hold onto this one, helped our confidence more than winning by 15 or 20 points.
I knew at the beginning of the game we weren't ready, then they made us play at a higher level and we weren't ready again.
I'm pleased with how we stayed with it. We persevered and we got it done.
