Carpel tunnel syndrome makes a perfect example. A lot of people would rather go for surgery (to get rid of it).
You can re-educate your muscles. If you are flat-footed, you could actually resolve that problem. It will take time but you can do it.
If you undergo surgery for CTS, you need three months for your wrist to heal. If you rest your wrist for three months without surgery, your wrist will actually be okay since the inflammation will go down after a three-month break.
