After the last couple of meets, it comes down to the championship season.
It's a great opportunity and a challenge for our guys to be in the water swimming against some of the best guys in the state. Since the competition is so strong it brings out the best in our guys.
My belief is a successful taper is what you put into the season. Now it's just a matter of trying to hold on for another week.
Tyler Evans swam a lifetime best in the 100 fly. It was a good team effort.
The practices will be reduced in the intensity and yardage these last three weeks. We rest and hope they can perform at their peak. If they stay healthy we should have a good end of the season.
We are in good company. We are behind probably three of the top five or 10 in the state. Even if the season would have ended today they swam past our expectations. They need time to celebrate and enjoy the moment.
It has proven to be the perfect marriage. It's proven that it has worked with the two high schools. You have Sauk who does not have the numbers without Heights and Wisconsin Heights who does not have a pool but has guys who want to keep swimming.
I think coming into the weekend expectations were high with the way we finished at the sectional. They swam their best last weekend. For them to come back and be faster, I would have been surprised.
