Tiger Woods Guys Quotations

We are all curious to see how it's going to hold up, playing this fast. A handful of guys are under par and with the wind supposed to blow, it's going to be interesting.

Chris has been there in a bunch of tournaments. And, unfortunately, guys have come up with the goods at the wrong time for him. That's not saying Chris has played poorly. It's just that he's been there enough times when guys have played better. That's just the way it goes.

It doesn't concern me. You're going to have advances in technology. Guys are bigger, stronger, faster, with added technology. Hence, you're going to hit it farther. Even average golfers have picked up a lot of distance.

That's what is coming and I've always said this. Guys are going to get bigger, stronger, be more athletic. ... Even if you don't do anything with the golf ball or the clubs and keep everything where it's at, guys are still going to get longer. You don't know. I mean, guys have come back from 10 back before in majors and have won. I don't know. It all depends on what Phil (Mickelson), and as I said Jerry (Kelly) and the rest of the guys before him, if they shoot 64 or 65 or 66. Then, you know it's pretty far out of reach unless I shoot a low one and they come back tomorrow.

A couple of the par-fours, you can have a run at them from the tee and one or two of the par-fives are reachable in two. I'm pretty sure some guys will be having a run at them.

It wasn't so much difficult as embarrassing. Guys are playing up 7, and here I am: 'Hold up, let me play my shot again.' I didn't like the way I played 7 anyway, so play it again.

It might just be the difference in length, ... That sometimes can be something that deters captains from putting guys together.

I've got to stay patient and build on it each and every day. Patience helps and at least I'm still in it. There won't be too many guys under par by the end of the week and hopefully I can get myself there over the next three days.

I've done this before. I have won three majors in one year, ... And I guess from some of the guys I have talked to in the media this week, the novelty factor is not there any more. You have already done it.

Anytime you have receptive greens and smooth greens and this morning, absolutely no wind, the guys are going to go low. That's not normally how this course plays. Usually you're trying to somehow fit a ball in there to some of these corners. (Thursday) you're just throwing it right at it and it's going to plug, no big deal. You know with these greens being this smooth, good putts go in.

I certainly agree that it's narrowed the field a little bit. Seeing some of the guys at their length, with what they have to hit into some of the holes, they are having a hard time holding greens. So some of the shorter hitters are definitely going to struggle.

The guys that went off early probably played in wind maybe half the round, maybe more, maybe less, depends on where they were on their time. That's just the way it is. (Today) we're all out there about the same time, and you've got to go out there and play.
