I wish I was better, certainly wish I was more under par, but that's what it is. I have nine holes to get a score. One shot at a time. It can happen fast. With soft conditions like this you can make some birdies.
Obviously (I must) get off to a better start. The course is soft and the greens are receptive. You still have to get it done.
It's playing more like a U.S. Open than a Masters. Lately, the Masters has played soft and wet, with balls plugging in the fairways and picking up mud. That wasn't the case. It was quick and dry, and the greens are picking up speed.
The course is playing a little slower than it was last year, a little more receptive. It's softer this year, and if you can hit the ball high and get it out there, you're going to have an advantage over a guy who hits the ball low and tries to chase it.
We haven't played it like this in awhile where it's been dry. It plays more like a U.S. Open right now than it does a Masters, because lately, the Masters has been playing soft and wet.
