Sometimes I think the league is just stifling itself, and I want people just to think and wonder... I talk all the time about how when I retire I want to be a part of the game.

At my age, if there is an extended period of time that we're locked out, I don't think I'd be able to come back.

We're long past the point where individual cities, especially in the crowded urban areas, can go it alone. It is now time to work together.

We lost a couple going into that first game. We got confused. This time we held our heads high.

I just feel bad for my kids. They work so hard. What we really need is some practice. We had three games this week and we've got four next week. There's no time for practice.

They'll put themselves back 20 years, ... If they think they can successfully ice 30 teams in the markets they're in right now and have a viable product, it's just not going to happen. Remember baseball? Baseball is just getting back to where it was before the '94 strike - and that's the national past time down here. Nobody gives a crap about hockey down here - nobody. I coach kids' hockey down here and you can start to see the disinterest in the game here with the kids.

Their expectations of themselves have risen and I think they are having trouble grasping that. They are nervous and playing tight. It is going to take some time to wear off.

Now we're in this dry cycle, and quite frankly, Texans have forgotten how to deal with it. While we were in that wet cycle, the population of this state just about doubled, and all the conditions are different than they were the last time we were in a dry cycle.

When it was time to get the job done and win games, he was right there. Kind of a quiet - not a mean streak - but that mentality of business first, fun later when you're off the ice.

Our open spaces can be saved while at the same time our public schools receive fair value for the trust land that belongs to our students.
