It's an interesting thing that you can really launch a business that will succeed without that many dollars. Our average is $100,000. We've got 31 in place now. We're looking to make sure they're good people and not headed to Rio with our money.
Anything they need, they can get access to with partners and people we have associated with us. We call them 'special advisers.' Generally it's free to them so they can keep their costs down.
People around here are quite anxious about this and with good reason. The long and short of it is that these jobs are gone and the contribution they make to the economy is gone. It's nice to soften the impact of that. But the fact is that they will have far less employment.
Grow Utah Ventures' goal is to be the most powerful private entity for economic development. We've got the governor and counties and cities doing what they do, but there's no reason why private people can't try and marshal their resources to get some things done.
