There are so many players on our team who are great leaders and would have been excellent choices. So this means a lot.
I think it's a dream of any player to be in this position, to have this kind of responsibility. It's a big responsibility, but at the same time, it's a great feeling, because a lot of people believe I can do it.
We played as a team and it's with great pride that we beat a team like Canada.
The puck went in, and the referee admitted that he had blown the whistle before the puck went in and apologized. It was a really tough break. It would have been great to have the tie at that point, and take our chances in overtime.
It's a great feeling to beat a Canadian team. They're so strong and the tradition has always been great in Canadian hockey. To beat this team, we took a lot of pride in that.
It's always been my team since I came here. We've had some good games and some bad games. We made a great step forward for this team that had been in last place. Now the expectations are higher.
It takes time, but we created so many chances. Hopefully it will come. It seems like, not only between me and him, but the entire camp, it's been a great atmosphere. Guys are pulling for each other and working hard, really want to be together. It's nice to see that.
I can wait forever as long as we win. It's a great win, hopefully we'll get some confidence and it will carry over from here.
