I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I'm helpless. It doesn't change God - it changes me.
We are finite and God will not call us everywhere or to support every worthy cause. And real needs are not far from us.
If naturalism were true then all thoughts whatever would be wholly the result of irrational causes. It cuts its own throat.
For me, reason is the natural organ of truth; but imagination is the organ of meaning. Imagination, producing new metaphors or revivifying old, is not the cause of truth, but its condition.
Do not be deceived, Wormwood. Our cause is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do our Enemy's will, looks round upon a universe from which every trace of Him seems to have vanished, and asks why he has been forsaken, and still obeys.
