Penalties with the sticks and things like that are because we're not aggressive enough. If you're chasing people from behind, hooking them, you're going to get called all night.
This organization came in and formed its own identity. Time goes on. People identify with this team more than hanging on to the North Stars' past.
The puck seemed to follow him around. He was always on the puck and making good plays. He's not going to hit a lot of people or grind you up. But he makes good plays under pressure.
Sometimes players find a niche with a certain team, and he's found that niche. It just goes to show that those veteran guys who people think are washed up, in the right circumstances, it can work out perfectly.
It's early and things will whittle themselves out. Players are competing for spots and minutes, and at the end of the day, the people who earn the spots are going to get it.
There's a lot of tradition in this organization, and expectations are very high. The players who come in here deal with those expectations in a positive way, and it pushes people forward. Success is something that is earned, and our players have that kind of mentality.
We don't feel we're deprived in that area. We feel we have people capable of playing very physical and very hard.
