She mixed well with the children and I was impressed by the fact that she put her own personal stamp to the day. Waddow Hall is a great place and I was impressed by how marvellous the children were and by the facilities they have. Overall, it was a great honour and privilege to represent the people of the Ribble Valley.

We are definitely looking for males. We have plenty of girl mentors but males are what we need. There are currently 25 children in the program and about 20 on the waiting list. Half of the kids are boys.

The real full force of this has begun to dawn on people. We're thinking realistically a lot of these children are going to be with us for three or four months.

It's not like Thanksgiving, when we all get together. I think maybe half of my children will be here; they're spread all over the world, and I never know if they're coming.
