We want the best and brightest students. I have a very inclusive definition of best and brightest. Of course that includes ACTs and test scores. But it also includes the character prospective students display. That shows there's a place for them at the university.
We want students working together, learning from each other. We have wonderful role models.
We want students to understand that they need to be careful on how to protect themselves.
We want students to think about how they schedule their classes on the campus where they live and park. We're hoping to get people on buses instead of driving, especially during peak times.
We want students to take these tests very seriously,
We want students to start to take control of their education.
We want students to know what they are getting into, ... The recruiters mention travel, but they don't mention the Middle East.
We want students to know we're ready for them as soon as possible, so they can make plans and prepare for a great university experience.
We want students to go on these trips. They are educational and valuable. For instance, one group is going to Venezuela, another to Mexico and another to help Hurricane Katrina victims in the south.
We want students to cross invisible boundaries of race, color, religion and ethnicity.
