It's probably the most nervous I've been on a baseball field. My knees were knocking a little bit out there. I had no idea what I was doing out there. But it was easier to focus on what I needed to do mechanically. I had enough time in the bullpen (20 pitches) to warm up.
I knew coming up here my role was that they put me where they need to. If that's in the bullpen or starting every 15 days or whatever, that's fine with me. The only thing I try to focus on is making sure I'm where I need to be when they put me out there.
I don't look at it as I'm backing him up. I look at it as I'm in the bullpen and I can go in for anybody basically and they could throw people ahead of me or whatever. I just throw basically when told to.
