When we went on that run in the third I thought we had it. But they sustained it and came right back out and we couldn't run our offense, and that's a tribute to their defense.
We were beat in every aspect of the game, rebounding especially. We gave them three and four shots on several possessions and you can't be successful when you let that happen. The fact that we couldn't buy a basket didn't help either.
We were in a dogfight the lead was never more than four or five points. But everyone contributed and it was a fun game to be a part of.
On any other night, giving up 41 points is not a bad defensive effort, but when you only score 33 it's a moot point.
She played a great game at the point.
If it comes down to it, it's going to mean cutting down on your operating costs to pay for your fuel costs.
If that fee does not pass, we have no choice but to make drastic cuts,
We made several adjustments on defense and ran our half-court trap fairly well. That caused major havoc for them and got the temp going.
We came out and were much more aggressive with our press and forced several turnovers, converting them into points and not just shot attempts.
We probably did foul them a lot, but 37 attempts to 10 attempts is a fairly large disparity.
Those were turning points, but it's going to happen. They're a good team and it was a hard fought game.
This was a business decision. It involves establishing the most efficient process for getting our products to customers at the lowest cost, and is no reflection on the Pine Bluff workforce.
We weren't expecting anything like $2.55, ... It's going to come out of cash reserves of whatever fund is connected (to each department.)
We got spanked against Beaverton and it was a little shocking. I was really proud of how we responded. We came out with more energy and we took it to them and had a great first quarter.
The time off will be good for us. We will do some reflecting, watch some film and do some fun activities. These kids understand that hard work and effort is what makes teams successful. I'm certain they'll be up for the challenging second half of league.
It was very, very good defense. And offensively, we did a good job of setting the tempo to our liking.
Are any not going to be touched? I don't think so, I think every single department within that general fund has to see a touch, ... I think they'll all be affected in one way or another.
They struggled to defend us man-to-man and we executed really well that was the difference in the game.
They're always a rough and tumble, blue-collar team.
It wasn't super exciting and it was a bit of a struggle for us to be patient also. They seemed content to run time off the clock rather than attacking the basket, so it was a good test for us to force ourselves to be patient.
I truly believe our league is the toughest league (in the state) as far as teams from top to bottom. On any given night, any given team can get a victory.
It's a loss. All of my kids' Christmas presents ... they didn't get to enjoy them. We just got back from Wisconsin.
It may be 'I'm sorry guys, I don't care how you do it, but bring your paper from home,' ... Every department will feel some effect, we just can't tell you how.
Everybody remembers Ironton in its heyday in the '40s and '50s, that's when Ironton was booming and we've gone downhill, and we have, we've hit rock bottom, ... But if we all don't stand together, we're not going to stand back up. It's going to take all of us to put it back on track.
It was a great defensive week. And I feel our depth was a factor in both games in terms of wearing both teams down.
It was a fun game we gave a super effort and the only disappointment was the outcome. As coaches, we felt that we played hard enough to win but not as good as we have before to get the win.
I don't know if we've made a statement, but it's enjoyable. This tournament kind of emulates the state tournament, so we can learn from this.
