Staying in someone's home is a wonderful way to experience a different city. It's like stepping into someone else's life. Some people are funny about sleeping in a stranger's bed or having a stranger sleep in theirs, but I'm not against wearing someone else's shirt if he's my size. Several of the people we've exchanged with have become friends.

I think health clubs today need to sell people the concept that what they experience in taking exercise and becoming healthier will help them go outside and make a better world.

This is not a Herculean thing. People don't have to jump through hoops or eat tofu every day. They just make changes in their life to get results.

The problem is the people we don't know of. Maybe they don't know the service is available. We certainly don't know they're there.

Our group includes people who are either non-exercisers or who have fallen off the exercise wagon. I think many of them volunteered because they felt they needed someone to teach them a program.

We're looking for unknowns here. It gives us a chance to see where people shine.
