Because the textbook publishers are not going to lower their prices, we must combat the outrageous prices of textbooks at the local level.

Students who can't afford textbooks now are forced to make some tough decisions, such as picking and choosing which books are more important, or just not purchasing books for a semester. It seems relatively simple, but it makes a huge difference, especially to those students who struggle to afford their textbooks each semester.

I am very proud of this resolution, and I hope that the New Brunswick Faculty Council adopts this policy because it's one step further in lessening the incredible burden that textbooks are on college students.
