We thought this is a great way to start some real connections, to have kids on the same bell schedule.
We just played hard and you can't give to anything else except for the kids and their heart. We started getting some open looks and then making threes.
That play really energized us back up. I told the kids that we can score quick and I know we can. We can also grind it out too. We drove the ball really well tonight, we just didn't put it in the end zone.
That play deflated me. It deflated the kids too, but we stopped them and they scored again. We forced them to work their way into the end zone and the kid made a nice throw and a nice catch.
Snowboarding is my passion. When my pro career was winding down, I didn't feel done by any means. I still loved riding and I was still out there a bunch. The transfer to coaching and to being out there with kids was natural.
The kids are there to have fun. They look on it (diabetes) as something they have to take care of.
