This was not our best performance. We just did stuff that I haven't seen since the first of the season. We picked a day to miss 15 one-footers.
The biggest thing I told (Anderson) is that he can't get caught up in the shooting and scoring. He got tentative last week because he missed some shots. We don't need (him) to make shots. We need (him) to do the energy stuff.
They (UAB) didn't go away, and they had shots to get right back into the game and missed some shots late. I thought the rebounding edge is what put us over the top.
He stands for three things: his family, his players and winning. I will miss playing him, but he will be coaching again.
Darius was ridiculous. He didn't miss a shot, folks. He gets 21, and you wouldn't even know it. Was that the softest 21 you've ever seen? Unbelievable. He's legitimate.
You understand that means you have the ball two feet in front of the rim. Whether it was because of a bump, a grab or a hold, we were 13-for-36 (inside). We just missed a ton of them.
The first half we missed 14 two-footers. At some point, we've got to make those shots. In the second half we made them, but you've got to make the ones that are near the basket. You can't miss them all.
The biggest play for me was when Darius missed the 3, then dove for the ball. We're up (six) and that's the game right there.
The guys that make game winners are the guys that are not afraid to miss them.
Whether it was because of a bump or a grab or a hold, we were 13-of-36 (shooting) from two feet (of the basket). That's the thing right now that's holding us back a little bit ... (but) we missed a ton of them.
The Missouri Valley Conference bought games. And they all have winning records. Did I (say) that they all played tough teams? No. Look at their non-conference schedules.
