To permit teens to talk on the phone while still practicing their driving skills simply does not promote safe driving practices on our roadways.
Any distraction can be a deadly one. The split second that it takes a teen to fumble for the cell phone to try to catch a call from a friend may spell disaster for the teen and his or her victim.
As a parent of a teen, I'd rather wait five minutes for my son to pull over to a safe location than to be on the phone with him when he T-bones another car.
