It really depends on what people are looking for - some people may just want glasses for driving therefore they only need a relatively light tint. But those who are going to be in the sun will need a darker tint.
It's probably best to go for quite large frames which will cover the vast majority of your eyes and eyebrows. It's the in-style right now which is good, but, it also makes sense because the bigger the frame the less light can get in.
