Tom's work was very important, and the way that we will honor him is to try to continue that work, maybe not for each of us going to Iraq, but we all have the opportunity to create peace in our own community.
We're still holding out hope and praying for their release.
On the one hand, it's nice to see that they're still alive, but obviously, the additional threat is of concern to us.
I think there's a bittersweet element to this in that yes, our friend Tom isn't coming home. But we know Tom is with us and that Tom is overjoyed that these men will be reunited with their families.
It's bittersweet, because we are still grieving for Tom, and it's so fresh that it opens wounds a little bit. But that doesn't take away from our joy that the other three men have been released and are safe.
I'm not for obesity, I'm not for single parenthood, and I'm not for poverty. But I realize those groups are more likely to be targeted than others.
