We told the kids all week that the most important thing about homecoming is the game. We didn't have a problem getting up for this one, despite the loss last week. That's not to say we weren't down. Anytime you lose to Earlham it's very disappointing.
Statistically, it looks like Jed led us, and he did. But, this was just a great overall effort. Everyone stepped up and contributed, both offensively and defensively.
Ryan Hubbard also made a big defensive play for us. We had a little bit of blown pass coverage and Hubbard came flying over to knock a pass away that could have been about a 40-yard gain for them in the first half.
Offensively, we executed really well as a team. Everybody ran well and the line executed their blocks.
That play got us going. We marched right down the field and scored.
It was a great team effort. We didn't allow East Union a first down until about four minutes to go in the half and they didn't score until six seconds left in the game.
