The pattern I saw in the independent league is they (organizations) take shortstops and pitchers. But how does stealing 38 bags and hitting .283 not get an invite.
The reality of getting to the big leagues is not very good. But I can still get it done. I still have the passion. But this wouldn't be a bad way to go out.
There will be a lot of exposure. It's another opportunity to be seen. Last year I had a great year, but I was in Independent ball.
It's hard to grasp what's really going on.
I'm guessing that was the big reason I got asked. A lot of guys will not be in midseason shape. Speed might be a factor.
I like the fact that there are only two shortstops on the roster. Plus I can play all three infield positions.
If I had a crappy year, it might be an easier decision. But I think I still got a shot. I just need an opportunity. But I don't want to be an Atlantic League lifer.
