We ran the bases well and hit well.
I was impressed with that late-inning rally. We were down and guys got excited and started hitting.
I was telling our guys to get as few walks as possible because we wanted to swing the bats today.
He was throwing the ball hard. And, he'd throw in that occasional curve in there to keep the guys off balance.
He had good control. I think that was a bit hard on Alex. He walked the next guy (after being warned). But his arm was looking good and his velocity in the last few innings was better than the first few innings.
He must have fouled off 24 pitches in a row before he got that hit.
Hunter threw very well. He deserved to win that game. He had control of his pitches. His was breaking his curve ball off very well.
Kenny hasn't really had any live work this season, but he threw really well.
I think it's going to be a happening. I'd recommend going there. It's part of history.
Our guys hit the ball well, and our pitchers threw well.
Our guy lost the ball in the sun, followed by an error and a walk, and then they got things going.
That's the thing. You get a couple of innings like that and you can go six or seven innings. His curve was working. His fastball up (high) was working, an outstanding outing for a sophomore.
That's the thing - we have to be able to stop the bleeding, and we haven't been able to do that in a couple of innings. If we eliminate those innings from both games, we are right there.
We finally got those big base hits with two people in scoring position, instead of the two-out hit with nobody on, which we had been doing.
We could never string a rally together. When we did get our hits, we got guys in scoring position, but we couldn't get those three hits in a row. And we don't have the home run hitters to get us three-run home runs. That's what we are struggling with now.
We were hitting the ball well and got walks. We got hot. Their pitcher looked like he ran out of gas or he wasn't normally a pitcher.
Today was a good day if you could just eliminate the first inning of the first game. We showed a lot of heart coming back. Unfortunately we ran out of time.
We are still early in the year, and I can't keep Alex out there seven innings. The same with Hunter. Our pitching isn't four deep, which is where we have a tough time.
They threw a lot of strikes. They needed those innings.
There were a couple of spots that were real scary.
It kind of came out of the blue. But he smacked it really hard to the opposite field.
It's tough going out there having three doubleheaders in one week.
They were throwing hard. It looked like we had a little lack of experience facing that.
They hit the ball well, and we made errors in both games.
He's thrown some in the bullpen, but he doesn't get in there a lot during games.
He threw really well. We had one bad inning where he had five earned runs, and one unearned, then the rest of the runs were unearned.
