Martinsville now seems to be on the mend.
Martinsville has come down a lot from a year ago and that's because some new (companies) have moved in there.
Most of them are students and don't work at other times of the year.
The state as a whole is doing well. Unfortunately, a couple of areas, the Danville area probably being the largest, aren't doing well.
Northern Virginia really makes the entire state look good.
Northern Virginia is probably about the best labor market in the country and probably some of the best in the world. And with that strong growth there, it's sort of pulling the state along.
The weather was so mild this January there has not been as much an increase as normal. Throughout the winter, claims have run 10 to 15 percent below last year.
It seems to be working. If you hadn't have had manufacturing layoffs, everything else tends to be positive.
It's usually a year or more, especially if you've got to build a building.
Danville continued to have people laid off at Dan River. Once (Dan River is) gone, things seem to pick up for the people who are left.
