We're required by No Child Left Behind to have 100 percent proficiency by 2014, so anything that takes away from instructional time from those three areas (math, reading and writing) at the elementary level is kind of critical for us to look at,

We felt they were 90 percent (effort) and we were hoping they would step it up that extra 10 percent. And they dropped it down about 30 or 40, ... It was kind of fun to go over and play one of my former players. I really believe he'll be an excellent coach because his team really did some good things tonight.

I want to give Mercer credit, they really never gave up. It was 6-0 at halftime, and they came out smoking. They were winning balls and making effective passes. They were pressuring the ball really nicely.

I'll give Boyle County credit, they really stepped it up and played well and Eric Curtis is just a hard kid to contain, ... And I told him when we were going through the line, 'Man, I'll be glad when you're out of here.'
