Aretha Quotes
The network television, they're always worried about how many times you're going curse on the air. They had another crisis this morning because they heard Aretha (Franklin) was going to strip when she was doing the Star Spangled Banner. But always it will all be worked out in the night. They needn't worry about it. Just calm down more and take life as it comes.

Abuse Quotes
The investigation of U.S. seminaries for 'evidence of homosexuality' continues the pattern of smoke-screening the church leaders have employed since the clergy child abuse crisis began. Why not look instead for evidence of cowardice, secrecy and dishonesty -- the traits displayed by so many bishops who magnified the crisis into a public scandal?

Coast Quotes
In light of the hurricane devastation inflicted on the people in the Gulf Coast and its impact on our economy, it is foolish to be raising rates again, ... The price of fuel is surging upward, and Americans simply don't need another rate hike in the middle of a crisis -- they need relief.

Agency Quotes
I'm on call one weekend out of every month. Whenever any law enforcement agency needs help, they'll call Crisis Intervention. We do everything from counseling victims to providing help that is beyond what law enforcement does, like stranded motorists who are out of gas. We give them 10 gallons and send them down the road. Sometimes we'll get people a hotel room, especially people who have lost their homes and the Red Cross hasn't been able to respond yet. Whatever we can do to help.

Becoming Quotes
In North America, what happens often is that they put race before nationhood. Everyone here is Hispanic-American, Chinese-American, African-American. But really, we're just North Americans of all these different descents. The only time I notice North Americans becoming national is when a war happens or a crisis happens.

Booing Quotes
I heard the splash; I thought it was a fish. I kind of stepped away, and then I heard all the booing. I thought they were booing me for stepping away from the ball. I mean the shock, the thing goes through your body, and you are like, 'wow, this is really a tough crowd.' Then you look up and you see some clown having an identity crisis swimming around.

Age Quotes
I just love the phrase 'don't tread on me,' and it usually has political connotations, but in this particular song, it's not a political song, it's more about feeling frustrated and feeling volatile and just needing some space, ... It's a very personal song. But then titling the album Don't Tread on Me and the artwork, there's a few pretty scathing political comments made on there. We didn't want to go all political, but I think in this day and age you kind of need to say what you think about things 'cause it is such a crisis situation.

Behind Quotes
Clearly, he understands now the tremendous challenges we face and how much we are counting on FEMA and the resources of our nation, ... The president, by his statements today, is demonstrating the leadership and accountability needed to get the inadequate federal response to this crisis behind us and move forward with rebuilding Louisiana.

Asian Quotes
Before the crisis broke, there was little reason to question the three decades of phenomenally solid East Asian economic growth, largely financed through the banking system, so long as the rapidly expanding economies and bank credit kept the ratio of non-performing loans to total bank assets low,

Act Quotes
George Bush has staked his reputation on the notion that his singular goal is to protect the American people--from terrorism, from crisis or whatever--that he has the strength and the vision and the leadership skills to do that. But there is a significant number of Americans right now who feel the crisis-manager president didn't act quickly enough, didn't act decisively enough, didn't put the right people in charge. If that view were to fester, that would be devastating to the rest of the president's term and his legacy.
